Date, Tahini & Maca Smoothie

A rich decadent smoothie with a mellow caramel flavour, followed by a warm and nutty aftertaste. It’s a truly luxurious way to start your morning or satiating way to give your afternoon a little boost.

This one of my most beloved smoothies, rich and creamy almost worthy of dessert status. What takes this smoothie to the next level is the maca. I’m not a fan of promoting superfoods but this one is a must have in every women’s pantry.

Maca Root Benefits include increased fertility in both men and women, hormone balance, a booster for the immune system, and increased energy, stamina, improved sexual function, memory, and focus. (12)

Maca is considered an “adaptogen”, a name given to certain herbs, plants, and natural substances that help the body naturally adapt to stressors like a busy schedule, demanding job, or illness, for example. (3)

If you don’t have maca powder don’t worry, it tastes amazing without it too.

tahini date maca smoothie

  • Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 4 dates (deglet noor)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice ( I use cashew mylk)

Directions

  1. place all ingredients in the blender
  2. blend until smooth
  3. serve in your favourite smoothie cup.

  • If you don’t have frozen banana use 2-3 ice cubes.
  • if using madjool dates only use 2 dates
